DEMO - MINNESOTA MUSIC ARCHIVE VIDEO

to be Produced by Mitch Thompson & Directed by Shane Nelson

Shoot Date October 24th, 2024

GOAL

Create a promo video to boost fundraising and volunteer recruitment.

Spread awareness of entity to Minnesotans and musicians.

Must have shelf life for other use in fundraising.

ASK = volunteer or donate. (Get more media music submissions to archive)

SCOPE

2MIn TRT

Minnesota Tourism Vibe and similar to Orchestra style ref below.

Cutdown of a shorter MISSION version.

VO driven

Rip the stuff from internet mixed with records and tapes and Dashboard of Archive.

(Diversity of music not JUST Prince / replacements 1st ave and Bob Dylan etc.  (needs QR code too)

BUDGET

Mitch secured 2k.

There will be HARD costs that DEMO HAS to pay for like VO recording and maybe super inexpensive music licensing and some other hard costs from Shane’s company but we will stay under this 2k cap.

TARGET DELIVERY

Nov 1st. Art event starts so that should be ideal delivery date. (This is ambitious with no budget. The more money we can get the better the video (and experience) will be for everyone involved.

STYLE REFERENCE

We can generally emulate the style of this Orchesta promo mixed with the filmmakers voice and style.

We also have updated the plan to work in RICK FULLER’s Media AND some locations that should help give a more high end vibe. (For Sure Muisc Mural Above Maybe Bob Dylan Mural / First Ave / Wast Bank / Dive Bar / Etc.

INSIGHT

REPETITIVE PROJECT TITLE:

We have altered the script repeating the actual title Minnesota Music Archive many more times as repetition will help folks remember the project and ask.

We love the aggressive approach outlined/approved by Mitch in the last Demo meeting to just go for it and make it as cool as possible without worrying about any tangential ramifications and will do our best to make this super cool and effective.

THE PLAN

Shane will use the existing media from prior video AND work with Mitch and the DEMO network to find imagery (video and photos) to cut together under the VO .

We may also be able to leverage our prior Doc and music video work as well as work like this MN music video (WE ALL DO BETTER)

MUSIC:

We are exploring the possibility of a Minnesota music Mashup as the music. (this will depend on speed of the collaboration and clearance using the bands we discussed at the in person meeting. (This would be in the vein of Girl Talk.

We would time out the rap/lyrics for a very few select music sound ups.

We plan to have a backup plan in place for royalty free non descript sizzle music to swap in… on off chance there are any issues.

STYLE: Unlike the Orchestra video I plan for a mix of black and white AND color with all different era of media and styles back to back.

We are going to leverage existing music videos and show imagery from our library and friends libraries and the Rick Fuller media provided.

We will mix black and white and color as well as all the older VHS and FIlm looks and newer 4k codecs and shoot iconic video on old TVs and mix in with live action shots of records and old posters. (At DEMO)

TEXT: BOLD FONTS can represent the band NAMES and MUSIC GENRES and Key Phrases.
